Fold your piece in two and close one of the two long size openings by crocheting together with a sc row. Do the same for both sides. You have now formed a pouch.
Chain a long length of yarn ( I did 110ch) and thread it between the sc stitches. This will be used as the string to keep the pouch closed. Once your soap is all used up, you open the string and place a new soap bar in the soap saver.
It’s easy and it’s zero waste if you consider that you don’t use any plastic bottles and the carton box the bar of soap comes in can be recycled. So I hope my soap saver crochet pattern will be of use to you!
Since this is made with cotton it will take more time than the synthetic sponges you might have been use to, to dry. My advice is leave it hanging from a hook on your bathroom so that it drains and don't leave it flat on any surface.
Your soap saver should be good for a lot of months of use. Enjoy!
