Materials:

Worsted weight cotton

Size «G» Hook

A cute button

Needle and thread

Difficulty: Easy

With size «G» hook, ch 51

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn. (50 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1 sc in same sp, sk next st, (sc, dc)in next st, *sk nxt st, (sc, dc)in next st. Repeat from * across to last st, sc in last st, turn.

Row 3-34: Repeat Row 2

Row 35: Ch 1 sc in same sp, sc in each st across. Ch 1 turn.(50 sc)

Row 36: (To decrease-draw up a loop in each of the next two sc, yo, pull through all three loops on hook) Work sc decrease across. Ch 1 turn. (25 sc)

Row 37-46: Decrease over the first 2 sc, sc in each st across until last 2 sc, decrease over last 2 sc. Ch 1, turn

Row 47-59: Sc in each sc across, ch 1 turn. (5 sc)

Row 60: This will be for the button hole: Sc in first sc, ch 3, skip next 3 sc, sc in last sc. Ch 1 turn.

Row 61: Sc in the first sc, sc in each of the next 3 chs, sc in last sc. Ch 1 turn

Row 62: Decrease over the first 2 sc, sc in next st, decrease over last 2 sc. Ch 1 turn. (3 sc)

Edging

SC evenly around entire towel, working 3 sc in each corner.

Join with sl st to first sc of edging. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Fold over top of towel to mark and sew button.
