Materials Needed: 4 ozs orange worsted weight yarn 3 ozs green worsted weight yarn, H hook
Optional: plastic canvas piece that measures 6 in x 21 in
Special Stitches:
FPDC — YO, insert hook from front to back and to front again around the vertical post (upright part) of st, YO and draw yarn through, YO and complete dc
Directions:
ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring
Round 1 — ch 3, work 9 dc in ring just formed, join with a sl st to top of ch 3 (10)
Round 2 — ch 3, dc in same st as joining, work 2 dc in each st around, join with a sl st to top of ch 3 (20)
Round 3 — ch 3, dc in same st as joining, dc in next st, (2 dcs in next st, dc in next st) repeat around, join with a sl st to top of ch 3 (30)
Round 4 — ch 3, dc in same st as joining, dc in next 2 sts, (2 dcs in next st, dc in next 2 sts) repeat around, join with a sl st to top of ch 3 (40)
Round 5 — ch 3, dc in same st as joining, dc in next 3 sts, (2 dcs in next st, dc in next 3 sts) repeat around, join with a sl st to top of ch 3 (50)
Round 6 — ch 3, dc in same st as joining, dc in next 4 sts, (2 dcs in next st, dc in next 4 sts) repeat around, join with a sl st to top of ch 3 (60)
Round 7 — ch 3, dc in same st as joining, dc in next 5 sts, (2 dcs in next st, dc in next 5 sts) repeat around, join with a sl st to top of ch 3 (70)
Round 8 — ch 3, dc in same st as joining, dc in next 6 sts, (2 dcs in next st, dc in next 6 sts) repeat around, join with a sl st to top of ch 3 (80)
Round 9-22 — ch 3, dc in next 3 dcs, FPDC in next st, (dc in next 7 sts, FPDC in next st) repeat 9 times, dc in next 3 dcs, join with a sl st to top of ch 3
Round 23 — ch 3 dc in next st, (ch 1 sk a st, dc in next 2 sts) repeat this around, join with a sl st to top of ch 3 Fasten off orange.
Round 24- Attach green to any ch sp, ch 3, work 3 more dc in same sp, (dc in next 2 dcs, work 4 dc in next ch sp) continue this around, join with a sl st o top of ch 3
Round 25 — ch 3, dc in same st, (dc in next st, 2 dc in next st) continue around, join with a sl st to top of ch 3
Round 26 — ch 1, reverse sc in each st around, Fasten off Green.
Strap:
with green yarn
Leaving about a 10 inch length of yarn at the beginning, ch 70
Row 1 — hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1 turn
Row 2 — hdc in each st across fasten off leaving a length of yarn to sew with
Pull Ties:
with orange yarn
Make 2
ch 110
sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch, fasten off.
Note: I chose to sc in each of the chains but you dont have to do this. My girls yank on the pull ties all the time and I wanted them more stable.
The girl version includes the straps and pull ties. The boys version has just the strap and the Adult version has neither. The adult version is a candy bowl. Reinforce it with a piece of plastic canvas that is 6 in x 21 in
